Teachers, Delete Your Naturist Pics - Even Bikini Pictures Can Get You Fired

Scandal Over Olivia Sprauer Bikini Photos:

It appears like just about every week we hear at least one story in the news of a teacher (typically young and female) being fired or detained for participating in unacceptable behavior (usually sexual) with a student.

Statistically speaking, it shouldn't be any surprise that a teacher found in a compromising position with a pupil is female. In accordance with the National Center for Education Statistics, about three-quarters of public school teachers are female. Teaching has, like nursing and follow , long been considered a female profession. Which is why I very nearly passed over the narrative of Olivia Sprauer, a young, female teacher in Florida who was fired several weeks ago for allegedly improper conduct.

Ms. Sprauer's case, however, is different. She had not been fired for improper interaction with a pupil. Rather, she was fired for having professional photos taken of herself wearing a bikini.

http://www.lwork.co.jp/_m/index.php?a=free_page/goto_mobile&referer=https://xotad.com/albums/photos-taken-on-the-strand-3015.html for many classes of public employees include conduct clauses which dictate that behavior beyond work hours can be taken into account when rating overall job performance. Teachers are (perhaps unfairly) more changed by these conduct clauses, since their main audience is kids and it is assumed that kids will be more adversely impacted by alleged unethical behavior on the part of the teachers than fellow adults would.

Besides parents, the adults that kids spend most of their time with are teachers. As http://radiomuse.net/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=purenudism.buzz/contents/64187576/2.html of two young children in public school, I realize (and expect) that teachers have a role model element to their own jobs. But I can also categorically state that if among my children's teachers (who are both female) did some bikini modeling quietly, I wouldn't be bo there d at all.

So perhaps we are not as worried by bikini photos in Ny as they're in Florida (oh, the irony!).

Though I believe we can all agree that the first thing we want from our teachers is competence. Did Ms. Sprauer's outside-of-work image sessions impair her ability to educate? If http://www.pollyannaplace.com/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=xelyd.com/categories/exbitionism/2/ 'd been surreptitiously photographed wearing a bikini at a public plage, would that have now been immoral actions? Or was it just a problem that she modeled and got paid for this? Provided that she was efficiently facilitating learning in the classroom, what does it matter?

Conduct policies are essential to many jobs, and can be especially important in a educational environment. My wife continues to be a professor at a few different universities, and most higher education associations ban relationships between professors/staff and students though the students are typically over the age of 18 and hence lawfully adults.

Difficulties of favoritism and academic dishonesty can originate as an outcome of professor-student relationships, which could be incredibly damaging to the learning environment.

Younger kids are surely impressionable. We can consequently hold teachers in elementary through high schools to a somewhat higher standard of actions. Would http://olympictorch.biz/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=wildnudists.com/albums/curvy-nude-plage-women.html want my children being educated by someone who uses illegal drugs, engages in prostitution, or makes porn movies even if that action didn't materially impact the classroom environment? It's a hard issue, and I could make arguments for and against that teacher continuing in their own situation.

But in the instance of Olivia Sprauer, is the simple act of being photographed almost bare satisfactory grounds for dismissal? Or can it be an overreaction driven by society's inclination to equate nudity with sex?

The battle continues.
